
A man who died in a one-alarm house fire early Thursday in Mountain View was 62-year-old Mountain View resident Daniel Theodore, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office.
Theodore died of carbon monoxide inhalation, medical examiner officials said. Mountain View firefighters were dispatched to the 700 block of Lola Lane at 3:05 a.m. and the first units arrived on scene at 3:09 a.m., firefighters said.

Fire crews had to contend with safety issues resulting from a downed power line in the backyard, as well as the presence of many firearms and ammunition inside the burning house, fire officials said.

Some of the ammunition was going off due to heat from the flames as firefighters arrived. Firefighters searched the residence after neighbors said a person might still be inside and eventually they located Theodore’s remains, according to fire officials.
The fire, which caused damage to the entire house, remains under investigation.
