Mountain View House Fires Quickly Doused

Firefighters responded to calls of two single-family homes on fire and knocked them down within 35 minutes.

Firefighters have knocked down a two-alarm fire in Mountain View on Monday afternoon, a fire spokesman said.

Crews responded to a report of smoke showing in the 200 block of Lassen Avenue around 2:40 p.m., Mountain View fire spokesman Lynn Brown said.

Firefighters arrived to find two single-family homes on fire and quickly called for a second-alarm response, Brown said. The blaze was knocked down as of 3:16 p.m., he said.

Brown was not aware of any injuries in the fire. No further details were immediately available Monday afternoon.
