Suspects Sought In Pharmacy Burglary On Cambridge Ave. In Palo Alto

Dozens of prescriptions were swiped, police said.

Police are looking for three men who burglarized a pharmacy early Wednesday morning in Palo Alto.

Around 3:45 a.m., police dispatch received a report from a witness who saw three men run away from a closed business in the 200 block of Cambridge Avenue, about a block away from Caltrain’s California Avenue station, police said.

The witness said the business’s front door looked broken, according to police. Arriving officers searched for the suspects with the assistance of a police K-9 unit but were not able to locate them, police said.

Investigators determined that the suspects had entered Maximart Pharmacy at 240 Cambridge Ave. by smashing a glass front door shortly after 3:30 a.m., according to police. Once they were inside, the suspects took dozens of prescription medication bottles then ran toward Park Boulevard, police said.

The suspects were described as younger males with a small to medium build, according to police. Photos from the pharmacy’s surveillance system show the suspects wearing hooded sweatshirts and one had a ski-type mask, police said.

The pharmacy experienced a similar burglary on April 16 during the overnight hours when prescription medicine was also stolen, police said. No arrests have been made in the April burglary, according to police.
