Woman Found Floating In Surf At Peninsula Beach Reported Missing Hours Earlier
The 67-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene at Sharp Park Beach. [Breaking]

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA – A Moraga woman who was found floating Sunday evening in the surf of a Pacifica beach had been reported missing just hours earlier in Orinda, according to Orinda police.
Chia-Yi Wu, 67, had been staying with friends in Orinda and was reported missing around 3 p.m. Sunday, Orinda police Sgt. Levi Terrill said.
Later that evening, around 7:40 p.m., police in Pacifica responded to a report of a body in the water at the south end of Sharp Park Beach. Paramedics were able to pull the victim, later identified as Wu, out of the water and attempted life-saving measures but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Pacifica police Capt. Joe Spanheimer said that while Wu's death remains under investigation, for now "it's not a criminal investigation."
