Woodside Residents Shelter-In-Place After Gas Line Break

The leak is on Tadin Lane and Portola Road.

Residents are being asked to shelter in place this afternoon after a gas line ruptured in Woodside, according to PG&E and the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office received a call at 1:38 p.m. of the leak on Tadin Lane and Portola Road, spokeswoman Deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt said. Digging by a third party ruptured the line, PG&E spokesman Nick Smith said.

Smith said PG&E got the first call of the leak at 2:05 p.m. and as of 2:30 p.m. a crew was on its way. He didn’t know the size or material of the pipe, but said that only one customer was without service.

Anyone planning to dig should call 811 before digging to locate gas lines and prevent breaks, Smith said.
