Gas Leak Reported Near Menifee Elementary School
Officials reported a gas leak in the area of a Menifee elementary school on Southshore Drive early Wednesday.

MENIFEE, CA — Emergency officials responded to a gas leak Wednesday morning at the Southshore Elementary School in Menifee, according to a Cal Fire spokesperson. At 7 a.m., Cal Fire emergency responders arrived where the leak originated at a construction site.
Roughly a half-hour later, Southern California Gas Co. officials arrived at the scene to fix the issue, a spokesperson told Patch.
"A third-party contractor damaged a small one-inch line that feeds Southshore Elementary School," SoCal Gas spokesperson Ahmad Solomon said. "The incident began before school started, and it was not known how many people, if any, were evacuated during the incident."
