The Mill's Adam Bouvet Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle In Dallas
An owner of The Mill restaurant in Old Town Murrieta, Adam Bouvet was beloved by family and an army of friends.
MURRIETA, CA — Family, friends, the Murrieta community and patrons of The Mill restaurant in Old Town are mourning the loss of Adam Bouvet, who was struck by a vehicle last week in Dallas, Texas, while visiting his daughter and grandchildren.
Bouvet's death was announced Monday on a closely watched GoFundMe page established for the family that has raised nearly $90,000 as of 5 p.m.
Community members have been sending prayers and well-wishes for the Bouvet family ever since word of the tragedy made its way to California.

Tracy Bouvet, Adam's wife, posted on social media about the horrific crash.
"On Friday afternoon while visiting Adam's oldest daughter in Dallas we decided to walk to lunch," she wrote over the weekend. "We walked to a little cafe down the street from her house. As we were walking back home from behind us we heard loud screeching. In a second I was knocked down only to get up and not see my husband. I found him in front of the car that hit us. I believe he saved us all. His daughter with her baby was walking in front, then our daughter Sydney, then Adam and I in the back.

"I do believe he took the hit to save us all," Tracy continued. "He is my hero. The love of my life, my best friend, the best husband."
Despite suffering significant brain damage, Tracy said Adam was fighting for his life.
Then, on Monday afternoon, Tracy posted an uncaptioned image of her and Adam on their wedding day. The photo shows the young, smiling newlyweds embracing. The timing of the post coincided with the GoFundMe update to announce the awful news.
Adam was well-known in the community and had a reputation for giving back. His entrenchment in the area can be traced to 1996, when the Westfall family opened The Mill in Old Town Murrieta on Washington Avenue.
The Westfalls brought with them 20-year-old Adam Bouvet.
"As the company grew, Adam grew with them," according to The Mill's website.
Presently, the Westfalls and Adam Bouvet are the restaurant's co-owners, according to the site.
In addition to his work at the restaurant, Adam has operated a real estate endeavor, The Bouvet Group at Exit Alliance Realty.
Adam was very involved in community events and especially beloved by his family.
As news of Adam's passing swept through Murrieta, the city's police department shared a remembrance Monday night.
"Known for his kindness and generosity, Adam was deeply rooted in our community," the agency said. "Adam and his family have supported our community and Police Department for many years.
"The entire Murrieta community, patrons of @themillmurrieta restaurant, and all who knew him are heartbroken," police said.
Adam's last Facebook post was Oct. 24: "Came to Texas to watch my grandsons play football. Ben was awesome tonight and oh so close."
Adam was, in Tracy's words, a perfect husband. She serves with Safe Family Justice Centers and Adam was always by her side.
She shared this Sept. 28 heartfelt message on social media:
"When you get accustomed to things in life you are just use[d] to it … but this husband of mine I can’t get accustomed to without being so grateful. I thank God everyday for him. We are at a wedding and he helps me down through bathroom stairs, he is worried with me walking in heels in dirt and grabs my hand, he squeezes me extra tight during the daddy daughter dance which he knows is hard after my dad died. I am so thankful to have married my best friend. The man who knows when I need extra love without saying it. I don’t deserve you Adam Bouvet."
In addition to Adam's children, grandchildren and Tracy, he is survived by his mother, father, two brothers, the Mill family — past and present — and an army of friends.
Patch reached out to the Dallas Police Department for more information about the crash. Updates will be provided as details are released.
While the GoFundMe is continuing, Which Wich sandwich shop at 24635 Madison Avenue announced it too is holding a fundraiser for the Bouvets. All proceeds from sales generated between 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 1 and between 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 2 will go to the family, according to the eatery.
