Murrieta Area Gas Prices Hit Lowest Amount in a Year

Prices haven't been this low since Feb. 8, 2015.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire dropped Tuesday to its lowest amount since Feb. 8, 2015, decreasing 1.2 cents to $2.615.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has dropped for 29 consecutive days and 32 of the past 33, decreasing 41.6 cents, including eight-tenths of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 8 cents less than a week ago and 40.1 cents lower than one month ago and a half-cent below what it was one year ago.

“The price continues to decrease mostly because the price of oil stays low and we haven’t had any major refinery issues in Southern California since before Christmas,” Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager, told City News Service.
