Murrieta Area Gas Prices Rising Once Again

Prices are higher than they were a month ago, but still lower than they were this time last year, according to analysts.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire rose four-tenths of a cent Tuesday to $2.728, one day after a stretch of 23 increases in 24 days ended when it was unchanged.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is 6.6 cents more than one week ago and 36.2 cents higher than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

However, it is 57 cents less than one year ago because the price dropped 71.3 cents during a stretch of 48 decreases in 49 days that immediately preceded the run of rising prices.
