Murrieta Chamber Recognizes Students of the Month
Murrieta Valley Unified School District honors the six students from throughout the region that were recognized in December.
From Murrieta Valley Unified School District: On December 8, 2016, the Murrieta Chamber of Commerce High School Student of the Month Program was held and the students were recognized.
Murrieta Mesa Senior Isaac Cunalata is an AP Scholar with a 4.3 GPA. He has over earned 200 hours of community service leading youth worship and teaching Sunday school. Cunalata is a member of National Honor Society, California Scholarship Federation, the Rooted in Christ Club and TED Talks Club. He has also been on the cross country team for four years and is a gifted vocalist in the choir. He has played the lead role in several school productions. Cunalata hopes to attend the U.S. Naval Academy and he will major in Public Affairs or International Law.

Vista Murrieta High School Senior Therese Recidoro is second in her class of 851 students. She has earned straight A’s throughout high school and has a 4.5 GPA. Recidoro is on the varsity tennis team and plans to continue competing in tennis in college. Recidoro is president of the Interact Club, team captain for Relay for Life and she volunteers at Loma Linda Hospital. She is a member of California Scholarship Federation and National Honor Society. Recidoro plans to major in biology and public health in college and her goal is to become a family physician.
While attending Springs Charter School Senior Maxwell Chan has been taking community college classes and he will have 50 units of college credit when he graduates. He is a member of the National Honor Society and he is the lead programmer on the school’s robotics team. Chan also plays piano and holds a black belt in kung fu. Chan participates in annual engineering camps and he enjoys tutoring other students. He plans to study video game design and computer programming at USC.

Murrieta Valley High School Senior Kaylin Krahn is seventh in her class. She has earned straight A’s throughout high school and she has a 4.3 GPA. Kaylin is team captain for the lacrosse team and is a member of National Honor Society. Krahn plays piano and has been in cheerleading and ASB. She has completed 174 community service hours. Krahn brightens up a room with her smile and she is self-motivated, dedicated and a leader. Krahn plans to attend UCLA, major in business economics and get her MBA.
Murrieta Canyon Academy Senior Kailee Shedeed is an excellent student who holds a 3.5 GPA. Shedeed has always wanted to be an actress and she is a gifted writer. When she was a student at Vista Murrieta High School, she performed in several productions and directed a musical. Shedeed has also performed and directed in several productions at her church. Shedeed will graduate from high school this month and she plans to attend Chapman University where she will major in film production and become a film director.
Calvary Murrieta Christian High School Senior Micah Roth is a scholar athlete who holds a 3.78 GPA. Roth has played football, basketball and baseball in high school. He has also been involved in global outreach ministry in Haiti and he mentors 9th graders. Roth has applied to several colleges and he has been accepted to Azusa Pacific University. He plans to play football in college and pursue a career in sports journalism. Roth is known for his passion for life, kindness, doing the right thing and living out his faith.
