Murrieta Mesa High School Revalidated As AVID Campus

The AVID designation places MMHS in the top 3 percent of more than 7,000 schools in 47 states across the U.S., according to the MVUSD.

MURRIETA, CA — Murrieta Mesa High School has been revalidated as an AVID National Demonstration School, it was announced Wednesday.

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a nonprofit organization that provides educators with strategies to "accelerate the performance and focus of students."AVID National Demonstration schools undergo a validation process and are required to revalidate every few years to ensure they are adhering to AVID strategies.

The AVID designation places MMHS in the top 3 percent of more than 7,000 schools in 47 states across the United States, according to the Murrieta Valley Unified School District.

“I am humbled by this national revalidation and pleased that our school community efforts to implement AVID support systems are positively impacting staff and students," said MMHS Principal Scott Richards Jr. “I am proud of our AVID program the commitment our teachers have made to raise the bar of our school as a whole thus, giving students the tools to be successful in their post-secondary endeavors.”

Murrieta Valley Unified School District Superintendent Pat Kelley said, "MMHS is a perfect example of what can occur when we continue to focus on doing what is best for students’ academic journey. This distinction showcases the stellar dedication of our Murrieta educators and their relentless path to pursue excellence on behalf of our students."
