Temecula, Wildomar Men Named Among Alleged 'Johns' Busted in Prostitution Sting

Sheriff's officials say people from throughout various local cities showed up at a motel on Thursday looking for sex.

MORENO VALLEY, CA- Sheriff's officials say they've arrested 9 men on suspicion of soliciting prostitution and one woman for prostitution after they conducted an undercover operation in Moreno Valley.

According to Sheriff's Sgt. Brian Holmes, officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department conducted an undercover prostitution sting operation at a motel on Thursday.

"The operation was in response to complaints from the community involving subjects loitering, suspected of illegal drug activity and prostitution," Holmes said in a news release.

Holmes says the agency had a woman pose as a prostitute at the motel. Throughout the day, nine men showed up and were arrested for solicitation of prostitution.

Police identified those men as:

  • Eric Morgan, 35, Temecula,
  • Ernesto Banoafacio, 34, Riverside
  • Stephen Liddy, 33, Wildomar
  • David Westerfield, 33, Riverside
  • Peter Buchert, 49, Yorba Linda
  • Jonathan Buenrostro, 32, Riverside
  • Michael Bootsma, 46, Nuevo
  • Jason Kelly, 33, Moreno Valley
  • Jose Hernandez, 34, Moreno Valley

"All of the suspects arrested in the sting operation were issued a notice to appear in court at a later date," the sergeant said.

In addition to the arrests above, Holmes said law enforcement officers arrested a woman who showed up after they arranged for a "date" with her via an internet ad "consistent with prostitution."

22-year-old Ebony Harris of Moreno Valley was arrested when she also showed up to the motel, Holmes said.

"The Moreno Valley Police Department is committed to the safety of the citizens of this community and will be vigilant in investigating all crimes," he said. "This investigation is ongoing and we are reaching out to the public for information about crimes of this type and others occurring throughout the city.
