The blaze briefly burned near homes on Via Bellagio, a Cal Fire captain said.
NAPA COUNTY, CA — Crews quickly halted a vegetation fire Monday that burned near homes in east American Canyon. The Bellagio Fire broke out at about noon, charring grass and oak woodland in the area of American Canyon Road between Flosden and Interstate Highway 80, authorities said.
No structures were immediately threatened, according to officials with Napa County. The blaze scorched about 12 acres near houses on Via Bellagio but none of the homes were evacuated, said Cal Fire Capt. Leah Simmons-Davis.
As of about 1:40 p.m. the fire was contained and a brief closure of American Canyon Road had been lifted.
