Crews Save Barn From Pope Fire In Napa County

The Pope Fire broke out near the 3000 block of Chiles Pope Valley Road in Napa County.

NAPA COUNTY, CA — Cal Fire and Napa County Fire crews stopped the forward spread of a vegetation fire Tuesday afternoon in the Pope Valley area of Napa County.

The Pope Fire broke out near the 3000 block of Chiles Pope Valley Road and was stopped at 3.32 acres as of 5:45 p.m., according to Cal Fire Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit.

Crews from Cal Fire LNU and Napa County Fire were able to save and protect a barn due to their quick actions, Cal Fire said.

There were no evacuations ordered as of 3:50 p.m., Cal Fire said.

Around 4 p.m., California Highway Patrol reported the closure of Lower Chiles Pope Valley Road at Chiles Pope Valley Road.

Crews were expected to remain in the area for a few hours Tuesday evening.
