Family Of Former San Diego Sportscaster Sues Yountville Restaurant
Larry Sacknoff, 61, died Aug. 16, 2014, due to complications caused by eating scallops at Redd restaurant, according to a civil suit.

YOUNTVILLE-Redd restaurant in Yountville is being sued by the family of a former television sportscaster in San Diego, who claim scallops the man ate at the restaurant led to his death.
According to the Napa Valley Register, court documents show that Larry Sacknoff, 61, died Aug. 16, 2014, due to complications caused by Vibrio parahaemolyticus, a bacteria found in marine environments.
His family claims Sacknoff ate scallops as an appetizer and an entree in July, 2013 at the Yountville restaurant, and became ill shortly after.

The paper notes Sacknoff had a compromised immune system.
“Larry’s fragile condition simply could not handle the aggressive Vibrio pathogen,” the family told the paper.

The restaurant is being sued for wrongful death in the civil suit.
