Missouri Dad Socks Away $25 A Month Since Daughter Was Born For This Trip To BottleRock Napa Valley

His 18-year-old teen could pick any music festival in the U.S. for their father-daughter trip. And the band roster steered them here!

By Al Francis:

There is probably no one more excited to be at this weekend’s BottleRock Napa Valley 2015 than 18-year-old Cheyanna Weaver and her dad, Steve, both of Columbia, MO.

This day has been coming since Cheyanna was 1 day old -- when her dad decided to set aside $25 every month for his daughter to one day enjoy a music festival anywhere she chose in the United States.

The teen began an Internet search in January to decide where in America their adventure would take them. And of all the music festivals across the country, she picked BottleRock Napa Valley for three reasons: Cage the Elephant, Foster People and Imagine Dragons - her favorite bands.

After her graduation from Battle High School in Missouri, the journey began, and -- oh! -- Cheyanna want to drive instead of fly. So they did, for two days, only taking a five-hour break for Dad to sleep.

After the 2,000-mile trek, they are here at BottleRock and staying at a hotel in nearby Vallejo.

“It’s amazing. I love it,” Cheyanna said, adding that she is considering returning next year.

“What a great way to start summer,” her dad said.

They plan to visit San Francisco and do some camping on the return trip home, where Cheyanna then will be off to college on a basketball scholarship.
