Napa Co. Firefighter Injured In Monday's Peak Fire
Breaking: The firefighter was treated at a hospital and will be off duty for a few days, a Cal Fire/Napa County Fire official tells Patch.

NAPA COUNTY, CA -- A firefighter was injured in Monday afternoon's grass fire in unincorporated Napa County, according to Cal Fire/Napa County Fire Department officials. The blaze, dubbed the Peak Fire, was reported at about 3 p.m. in the 2700 block of Atlas Peak Road. Napa County sheriff's officials initially said the fire was in the 2900 block of Atlas Peak Road.
The Cal Fire/Napa County firefighter was installing a "hose way" on a rock when he lost his footing and fell, hitting his arm on another rock, Cal Fire/Napa County Fire Department Capt. Tiffany Mercado told Patch Tuesday morning.
"He was seen at a hospital and thought maybe broke it," Mercado said.

But that turned out not to be the case and the firefighter was released from the hospital but will be off duty for a few days, she said.
The Peak Fire was contained at 5 p.m. and burned five acres -- up from an initially reported four acres. Firefighters' "aggressive attack and quick response" limited the fire's spread, and no buildings or home were destroyed in the blaze, according to officials with the Cal Fire/Napa County Fire Department.
