Rocky Fire Spreads To 65,000 Acres; Wragg Fire 97% Contained

Rocky Fire, burning in Northern California’s Lake, Colusa and Yolo counties, has spread to 65,000 acres as of this morning, with 12 percent containment, Cal Fire said.
The fire has crossed Highway 20 in multiple locations and crews are working diligently to control the fire’s progression, the agency said.

The fire had consumed 62,000 acres as of Monday night.
Structures threatened number 6,959, and 3,205 firefighters are at the scene, Cal fire said.
And Cal Fire added:
“RESIDENTS ARE URGED TO STAY VIGILANT AND ADHERE TO ANY CHANGES IN EVACUATIONS AND ROAD CLOSURES. Fire activity and direction can change at any time, be prepared and stay informed. With the elevated fire danger, we are asking everyone to use extreme caution. For more information on how to prepare for wildfires, go to http://www.readyforwildfire.org.”
The cause of the Rocky blaze, which began Wednesday afternoon, is undetermined and under investigation.
Wragg Fire, meanwhile, in the Lake Berryessa area of Napa and Solano counties, is 97 percent contained with 8,051 acres consumed as of this morning, Cal Fire said.
The fire began the afternoon of July 22.
