TRAFFIC ALERT: Berryessa Knoxville Road Will Be Closed June 1-5

News from the county of Napa:

Berryessa Knoxville Road will be closed for road construction Monday, June 1, through Friday, June 5.

Work will begin at 7 a.m., Monday and go 24 hours a day through 5:30 p.m., Friday. The location is immediately south of the Pope Creek Bridge, south of Pope Canyon Road.

Alternative route information:

· All resorts and residential areas on the west shore of the lake will be accessible from Highway 128 to Berryessa Knoxville Road, south of the construction zone.

· Rural areas on the north end and east shore of the lake will be accessible only by traveling Pope Canyon Road from Pope Valley.

· Resorts and residential areas on the south shore of the lake continue to be accessible from Highway 128. Access is not affected by this construction activity.

Emergency vehicle access will be available during this time.

The project is being constructed by Hat Creek Construction, of Burney, CA, under contract to the Federal Highway Administration. The project is funded by the Federal Lands Access Program, a grant from the federal transportation bill which was obtained by an application submitted by Napa County. The funds are set aside specifically for improvements to local agency roadways, which provide direct access to federal recreation areas, such as the resorts located along the shores of Lake Berryessa, which are operated as concessions of the Bureau of Reclamation.
