WineSpirit Seminar Explores Palate Diversity and Wine under the Microscope
Join us for wine and light appetizers as we analyze the tastes of wine and how each is developed on our palates
Have you ever wondered why you love the taste of certain wines, but do not enjoy others? Have you noticed that a close friend or family member prefers completely different types of wine than you? This is not due to a lack of wine education, but most likely to a difference in your genetics and life experiences.
Join us in a fun and engaging tasting at the next WineSpirit Seminar entitled “Wine Palate & Shaping Taste” where you will not only learn about your own taste preferences, but be able to view the beauty of wine under a microscope and understand how its shape impacts your palate. Dr. Liz Thach, Master of Wine and Dr. Sondra Barrett will guide us through an exploration of the colorful expressions of wine and discuss how the five tastes (sweet, bitter, sour, salty and umami) impact our experience of wine.
Sponsored by WineSpirit, this unique event will be held on Sunday Sept. 27 at 2 pm at Black Stallion Estate Winery. To attend, please register on EventBrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/wine-palate-shaping-taste-with-dr-liz-thach...

About the Presenters: Sondra Barrett, PhD, biochemist, award-winning photographer and author of Wine’s Hidden Beauty, has taken a unique route to knowing and tasting wine - through the microscope. Artist-in-residence for Sterling Vineyards decades ago, she started her explorations of wine from the inside out, capturing the expressions and patterns in wine and the molecules of taste. Her wine art has appeared in numerous international publications, at museums and wineries. Sondra proposes that we can enjoy wine more when we taste the shape. (http://sondrabarrett.com/wine/).
