Worker Suffers Wood Chipper Injury On Napa Job Site
BREAKING: Cal/OSHA is investigating the incident involving an employee of a tree-trimming service hired by the city of Napa.

NAPA, CA -- A man working for a tree trimming service hired by the city of Napa for a neighborhood improvement project was injured while operating a wood chipper Tuesday afternoon. The accident occurred on Karen Drive between Sutro and Malone drives sometime before 1:20 p.m., when police posted an online statement asking area residents to avoid the area.
The victim was transported to Queen of the Valley Medical Center, according to Napa city spokeswoman Jaina French.
Frank Polizzi, a spokesman for the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, said the victim worked for Gorilla Tree Service.

Cal/OSHA has up to six months to issue citations related to a case, and investigations tend to take that long, according to Polizzi.
"The goal is to abate hazards in the workplace," Polizzi said in an email Wednesday morning.
