NEWARK, CA — A car crashed into a gas pump at a Shell station in Newark on Thursday, erupting into flames.
According to Alameda County Fire Department spokeswoman Aisha Knowles, "The car ran into a gas pump prompting the remainder of the pumps to be immediately shut down. There were no injuries to gas station employees, patrons or firefighters."
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, which caused major traffic congestion in the area.
