Major Newark Intersection Closed For Hours
It's not expected to reopen until some time this afternoon. (Breaking)

NEWARK, CA — Newark Police are warning drivers to avoid the intersection of Thornton Avenue and Gateway Boulevard for the next four hours.
A truck crashed and spilled oil. It was originally believed that the spill involved fuel, but it was later determined to be about 20 gallons of oil. The motor oil didn't get into a nearby dirt or storm drain, according to Alameda County Fire Department spokeswoman Aisha Knowles.
Crews from Newark Public Works and a hazardous materials cleanup company are on the scene to remove the spilled motor oil and debris from the crash.
