Man Arrested After Allegedly Driving Stolen Vehicle At Fremont Officer, Hitting 2 Cars

Thornton Avenue and Paseo Padre Parkway was the scene of the collisions.

FREMONT, CA - A man was arrested Monday night in Fremont after he allegedly led police on a chase in a stolen vehicle and drove at officers, police said.

Officers arrested 27-year-old Michael Saucedo in the incident that began at 10:36 p.m. when an officer identified a stolen vehicle near the intersection of Fremont Boulevard and Thornton Avenue. Saucedo allegedly sped away from the officer in that vehicle and the officer pursued Saucedo to the area of Dickens Court and Reynolds Drive when Saucedo turned around and drove at the officer, according to police.

The officer then stopped the pursuit but allegedly Saucedo had a collision with two other vehicles at Thornton Avenue and Paseo Padre Parkway. The collision allegedly injured three people, police spokeswoman Geneva Bosques said. One person was taken to a trauma hospital, Bosques said.

Paseo Padre Parkway was closed for several hours during the incident while officers investigated the collision.
