Syria Conflict: Public Reply to a Patch Reader.

A Patch reader who decided to contact me thru E-Mail via my Website has asked me not to publicly identify them and I have decided to honor that request here. The Topic was my Shout out Saturday Afternoon after Obama made a Speech about Congress Approval and without going thru what turned out to be a detailed and very pointed Communication, I thought it best to honor the request to reply publicly.

America is known for it's Wars or more specifically it's failures in decades past and the difference Today is that, there are no longer just Yes men, and Yes women who will take our Government at face value after all the prior False Pretenses and Lies from various Administrations.

Our Country was once lauded the Best Country in the World and the most "Super" of Super Powers, Period. When times were simpler, it was agreeable that we should intervene in other Countries affairs because it was the right thing to do and so we did. This was an excuse mind you, for such Administration to bring forth they're alternative agenda and biased outlook.

American Society Today is a stark contrast to what it used to be, my Generation has seen the affects of a Century of Lies & War Mongering. Our National Debt is enormous, Society still hasn't entirely recovered from the most recent recession and Tomorrows future looks ever so bleak due to the actions of a few Youths recently.

What I'm about to tell you may or may not surprise you...

As an American in Modern day Society I don't Object to our Country intervening in anothers Genocide. My views about Obama and the Syria Conflict were more rooted in the fact that our Presidents think they are infoulable and invincible as not to be held accountable for their actions.

My Shoutout reflected my Amazement at President Obama coming out and Publicly stating to the American people that he is willing to go by the book and get approval from Congress, prior to engaging the Assad Regime in what would ultimately be a Declaration of War.

Believe it or not, this is actually progress compared to the actions of Presidents before him, so I applaud President Obama and welcome him to make his case in a Public setting.

Now, it is true that Obama can still bypass both the American people and Congress if he so chooses, but he's willing to let the Constitution do it's Job before issuing the Order, regardless of the fact Americans all over this Country have taken to the Streets to visibly Protest such Action in Syria.

Answering the Primary Question of they who shall remain nameless, I would feel Sub-Human if we did nothing, allowing Assad or any other evil dictator to carry out further such atrocities on they're own people or those of another.

I can understand the American Public's hesitation and reluctance for us to get involved in another conflict after a decade of Afghanistan & Iraq. I've often believed that so called Leaders need to focus more on the people they serve and less on themselves.

Having said this, I don't believe America should go it alone.

Screw it being "American Led" or "Western Led", this is one of those highly important moments in History where it's less about the differences and Politics between us and other Nations and more about finding a common ground together and taking Action TOGETHER as a International Community.

I disagree with a lot of Americans on this Subject, for if we bury our heads in the sand and Ignore the countless murders carried out by Leaderships thru out the World, we are in essence no better than they are.

I know that my generation is wise and all those who came before us, I also know the next Generation will look to us and what History says of us and know in they're hearts that what we did in they're pasts was the right thing to do.

So I ask American Citizens, and all of our Government Leaders to take a hard long look at all the facts in the case, Fiercely debate the Cons & Pros and thoroughly contemplate the case on it's merit as it's presented to them.

Put aside you're Bigotry, Hatred and Politcial distrust of each other and stand united, ONLY after having been informed of the situation. Judge the Case, NOT the person or Group that puts it before you. Many Americans have been stating that they would Vote NO regardless if Assad really did gas his own people. Again, it's not our Country so why should we get involved?

I've said it time and again I HATE Politics and am NOT Political, but even I realize that there are much wider implications if this is left unchecked. We have been given an opportunity to be included and have our voices heard, don't throw that away simply because you hate our President or don't agree with him on issues or even a personal basis.

I have no doubt that our Congressional Leaders will possess the common sense to see thru a BS Case & Proposal, ONLY if it's actually BS.

Lastly, Obama may very well still choose to Attack without Congress Approval or ours, but Yesterday an American President for once in recent memory has given us the opportunity to participate in an Executive Decision and allow us a Voice. Can we honestly just ignore that or pass it up?
