The 21st Annual Amateur Rose Show & Contest

Judging: 11 AM – 12 PM
Join us for one of our most popular summer events, The Annual Amateur Rose Show. Enter our contest by bringing in your rose entries to Roger’s Gardens between 9 AM and 11 AM. Judging starts at 11AM. Winners will be announced at approximately 12 PM. Rosarians and staff will be available to assist you. It’s easy, just cut a few of your favorite and best roses from your garden and bring them to the store; we will provide the vases and do the rest of the work. If you know the name of the rose, bring that as well. Roses will be divided into four divisions: Hybrid Tea or Grandiflora’s; Floribundas and Polyanthas; English Roses, Shrub Roses and old Garden Roses; and Miniature Roses. Exhibitors may enter as many roses as they wish, but only one rose of each variety. First, second and third place will be selected in each division with over $1,000 in awards.
Entries are received on Saturday, May 9 from 7 AM to 9:45 AM. The show is open to the public on Saturday from 9 AM to 6 PM and on Sunday from 9 AM to 4 PM. There are 3 areas: individual blooms, rose arrangements, and photographs. It is an excellent opportunity to see all the best new roses available, since exhibitors grow most of the new varieties.
