Corona Del Mar School Threat Closes Campus
A threat written on a student's desk at Corona Del Mar High School Friday was enough to close one CDM school Friday.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — All are on edge following the massive shooting at a Florida school this week. In Orange County, a discovery in a classroom was enough to alert authorities regarding a potential threat.
Two schools in Corona del Mar reacted to a threat of violence, found scrawled on a desk in a Corona del Mar High School classroom. The exact threat was not made known, however the intentions behind the writing was determined to be non-credible, according to the Newport Beach Police Department.
Police Sgt. Cory Wolik said in remarks reported by the Orange County Register that on investigation, the threat written on the desk was found to be probably two months old.

Classes at Corona del Mar High School remained open on Friday, however Our Lady Queen of Angels, the kindergarten through 8th grade Catholic school across the street from Corona del Mar High, has cancelled classes Friday as a result of the reported threat, according to broadcast reports.
