Footsteps in the Sand on Newport Beach: Orange County Patch Photo of the Week Winner
Footsteps across the sand across Newport Beach. For this SoCal photographer, taking pictures with friends tells a story not soon forgotten.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — In the winter of 2015, three friends engineered the perfect "footsteps in the sand" shot, according to local photographer Norbert Tsi. But when footsteps wouldn't show up in the shot, they took things to the next level.
"Since his footprints wouldn't show up on camera, we had our other friend stomp out the footsteps and he did it in a very comedic way. And once I had everything just right, I took the photograph and it's one of my favorites now."
Tsi is a product and portrait photographer in Orange County.

"I love telling stories," he said, and subscribes to the "picture is worth a thousand words" theory.
Currently, Tsi is at work on a project he has named the "StreetViewStory Collection."

"It hopefully will be a sizable allegory detailing the life of two people through street photographs," he said.
Tsi is frequently found biking around Orange County, photographing and interviewing people he finds interesting on his travels.
This particular photograph was taken with an entry level Nikon D3300 with an 18-55mm kit lens at a longer exposure. He believes that post processing is essential to the process.
"I believe that photography is about using and bending the light to tell a story. So without post processing, I do not believe that I am using my tools to the maximum effect," he said.
Born and raised in southern California, he attends UCI as a civil engineer, fixes bikes and takes photos as often as he can.
