Former Jefferson Starship/Starship Lead Guitarist Craig Chaquico to Perform on July 31 at Hyatt Regency Newport Beach

Legendary guitarist and songwriter, Craig Chaquico will be performing in concert on July 31 as a featured artist of The Hyatt Regency Newport Beach Summer Concert Series.

The event will, in part, support the work of San-Diego non-profit organization, Guitars in the Classroom, with an exciting silent auction that includes signed instruments and eco-friendly goods. Proceeds will fund free musical training for classroom teachers who wish to provide daily musical learning for students in public schools in Southern California.

Before Craig was an international Number One artist on radio stations such as The WAVE, KSBR and KIFM, Chaquico made his indelible mark on the world of popular music as the lead guitarist and songwriter for both Jefferson Starship and Starship. He is the only original founding member to appear on all of both bands hits and anthems.

For the last 25 years, Craig has been a core smooth jazz artist because of his million-selling, Grammy-nominated, #1, instrumental guitar albums. Now that it’s exactly 40 years this summer since the release of Craig and Jefferson Starship’s biggest album, Red Octopus (“Miracles,” “Fast Buck Freddy,” “Play on Love”…), he is now performing his hits in concert from five decades at the top of the charts including his classic rock (“Jane,” “Find Your Way Back,”) pop (“Sara,” “We Built This City,” “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now,”) smooth jazz (“Café Carnival,” “Luminosa,” “Lights Out San Francisco,”) and songs from his Fire Red Moon album which debuted in the Top 15 in Billboard magazine’s blues chart.
