Meet Authors at Book Fair

The authors, many with multiple awards, cover a gamut of fiction, non-fiction, science, poetry and children's books.

Laura Seeley, award-winning author and illustrator of “The Magical Moonballs,” will appear with several other writers of children’s books at the Newport Beach Book Fair, from 1:30 to 5:30 on Sunday, Oct. 4 at the Newport Beach Tennis Club.

She will be joined by 28 other authors of fiction, non-fiction, science and poetry, including six other writers of children’s books. Four will bring their latest releases, published this year.

Seeley’s work has been praised by Kirkus Reviews, the School Library Journal and The Council of Authors and Journalists. Her illustrations, in books such as the best seller “A Book of Shadowboxes: A Story of the ABC’s,” have been described as “rich with fabulous detail and vivid color.”

She also collaborated with author Ray Negron on “The Boy of Steel: A Baseball Dream Come True,” a New York Times best seller.

Other children’s authors will include Susan Casey, whose “Kids Inventing” won awards and critical acclaim for inspiring young inventors. Readers have praised the book, saying “The information on patents and trademarks alone is worth the price of the book.”
