OC RESCUE MISSION HELPS SHAPE NEXT GENERATION OF YOUNG ENTREPRENEUERS AS IT HOSTS FIRST ANNUAL CHILDREN'S BUSINESS FAIR
Orange County, Calif. (April 19, 2016) – The Orange County Rescue Mission invites the community to participate as it hosts its first annual “OC Children’s Business Fair,” a one-of-a-kind event allowing children to display their business ideas and innovations to the local community. The event will take place on Saturday, April 23, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Orange County Rescue Mission’s Village of Hope in Tustin, California.
“We currently have the highest population of children living at the Village of Hope to date, and it’s imperative that we not only provide them with basic necessities but the tools for future success,” says Jim Palmer, President of the Orange County Rescue Mission. “The OC Children’s Business Fair does just that. It gives kids a chance to launch their very own startup business and gain priceless experience that they will be able to carry with them forever.”
The Children’s Business Fair is the largest entrepreneurship event for children in North America. Created by the Acton Academy and Acton School of Business, this one-day event shows just how ideas and hard work can make for a promising future.

“Kids will learn the ins and outs of what it takes to create and launch a business, as well as learn how to set budgets and plan accordingly,” explains Palmer. “These are invaluable life lessons that these kids will be able to utilize throughout the rest of their lives and hopefully inspire them to continue down a path of future success.”
The fair will consist of more than 50 different booths, all featuring a unique business, service or product created by these young entrepreneurs. Attendees will have the chance to browse this variety of products and services, and are encouraged to make purchases as they wish!

“This is the Orange County Rescue Mission’s first year hosting this event. We hope that we’re able to increase the size of the event in years to come, and share this experience with more families and children,” adds Palmer.
The event is sponsored by the California Policy Center, Lincoln Club of Orange County, Wells Fargo, Acton Academy Orange County, Spring Charter Schools, Service 1st Contractors, Global Business Academy and ORCO Block & Hardscape.
