OCC Discover Sailing Scheduled for June 20

Free Event is Open to Public, Includes Raffle and BBQ

Orange Coast College’s School of Sailing and Seamanship will host its annual Discover Sailing and Summer Sailstice Celebration on Saturday, June 20, from noon to 4 p.m.

The afternoon will include fun, food and sailing at the school’s Newport Beach waterfront facility at 1801 W. Coast Hwy. Admission is free and open to the public.

Those in attendance will have a chance to sail aboard one of OCC’s sailboats, and the school also will be raffling off a certificate for a free beginning sailing class, youth summer sailing camp or safe powerboat class.

“This is a fun day and great opportunity for first-time sailors to explore sailing for free,” said Sailing Program Coordinator Mette Segerblom.
