SEE: Disneyland's Galaxy's Edge To Open Next Summer

ANAHEIM, CA — It's just a glimpse, but here is a sneak peak of what awaits you when Disneyland Resort's Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge arrives next summer, and in late fall of 2019 for visitors of the Disney World's Magic Kingdom Park .

Imagineers remain hard at work on the Disneyland Resort Star Wars themed expansion, according to a park spokesperson.

"Guests will land in the middle of the action as they live out their own Star Wars stories," Scott Trowbridge, Portfolio Creative Executive said in a recent release.

If you're really curious as to what Star Wars Land: Galaxy's Edge will look like, head to Star Tours to catch a glimpse of the planet known as Batuu.

The story behind this remote outpost rings familiar. Batuu was once at the crossroads of old sub-lightspeed trade routes, now bypassed by hyperspace travel. (Homage, perhaps, to Cars Land's Radiator Springs, we wonder?) The story is deepening as images

Batuu is home to those prefer to stay out of the mainstream, it is described as a "thriving port for smugglers, rogue traders and adventurers traveling between the frontier and uncharted space."

It’s also a convenient safe haven for those intent on avoiding the expanding reach of the First Order.

Expect many more stories from the Imagineers and their Lucasfilm Partners as 2019 approaches. Expect futuristic rides with cutting edge technology, a walk inside the Millennium Falcon, a host of never before seen characters and that ultimate chance to immerse yourself in the dreams of your youth.
