Mayor Eric Garcetti threw his support today behind Carolyn Ramsay’s bid for the 4th District City Council seat, which represents neighborhoods from Sherman Oaks to Los Feliz.

Garcetti extolled Ramsay’s “15 years of experience and track record of bringing residents, local businesses, and community leaders together to solve problems and protect the character of our neighborhoods.”

“This has always been a David versus Goliath fight to change the status quo at City Hall,” she said.

Ramsay said she is “honored and thrilled” to have Garcetti’s endorsement.

She said the mayor “has demonstrated tremendous leadership focusing on the basics for our neighborhoods by initiating the Great Streets program, keeping a tight fiscal budget, building consensus around earthquake preparedness and reducing our water usage during the drought.”

“I look forward to the opportunity to work closely with our mayor and use my 15 years of experience working with neighborhoods to bring additional solutions to traffic mitigation, protecting the character of our neighborhoods, and creating new jobs through my Hollywood Innovation Zone,” she said.
