Ammo And Oxygen Bottles Explode In Canoga Mobile Home Park Blaze
Firefighters were forced to battle exploding ammunition and oxygen bottles as well as flames at a Canoga Park mobile home fire.

CANOGA PARK, CA — A greater-alarm fire tore through a mobile home in Canoga Park Monday evening, with exploding ammunition and oxygen bottles complicating firefighters' efforts to keep the flames from spreading to nearby structures and at least one vehicle.
The fire was reported about 8:30 p.m. in the 8900 block of Eton Avenue, just east of Canoga Avenue, according to Amy Bastman of the Los Angeles Fire Department. It was knocked down in 44 minutes by 92 firefighters, Bastman said.
A fire department air unit monitored flying embers while firefighters battled the blaze, Bastman said.

"Exploding ammunition and oxygen bottles caused additional hazards," she said.
No injuries were reported, but the Red Cross was summoned to assist an unspecified number of displaced residents, Bastman said.
