Got a news tip? I'm Paige Austin, your local editor. I started out in newspapers and jumped to digital community news with Patch as a local editor all the way back in 2010. I began covering the Northridge-Chatsworth area in 2014. My ties to the community go way back. My dad grew up there - my aunt even worked and lived at Spahn Ranch for a time (not with the Manson Family, though she had encounters). Naturally, I am a hardcore Dodgers and Kings fan. I have a toddler and two pugs. So when you call me and hear loud snoring in the background, it's the pugs you're hearing. I dig old-lady crafts, and I'm a sucker for anything written by Kurt Vonnegut, John Steinbeck or Neil Gaiman. And I love history, which is probably why the Valley and its rich history has a special place in my heart. Send your tips, ideas and questions my way at paige.austin@patch.com or 714-721-1222. If there is an issue in town you think Patch should be covering, please reach out to me. If you want to know why you hear sirens, or see a smoke plume or the 101 isn't moving, call me, and I'll find out what's going on.
