A bullet-riddled Alfa Romeo SUV driven by the victim's friend was found a few blocks away, but the friend was not found.

CANOGA PARK, CA — A teenager is in critical condition after being shot and run over at an Arco gas station in Canoga Park overnight. His attackers remain at large, according to police.

The attack happened just before 1 a.m., said Los Angeles Police Department Officer J Chaves.

Los Angeles Police officers were called at 1 a.m. to Vanowen Street and Independence Avenue where they learned the victim and another person were buying items from the store's outside window when multiple suspects, some who drove up to the station and others who were already at the mini-mart, began arguing with the victim, LAPD Officer Rosario Cervantes told City News Service.

KTLA reported that after one of the men fired on the victim and his friend, the friend fled the scene in a dark-colored Alfa Romeo SUV, running over the victim as he fled. The LAPD would not confirm those details to Patch.

The Alfa Romeo SUV was found blocks away with bullet holes in the windshield, but the victim's friend was reportedly gone.

According to police at the scene, the suspect vehicle may have been a white BMW.

There was no suspect description.
