19-Year-Old Novato Man Cited for Allegedly Serving Alcohol to Minors
Novato police initially responded to the party on Simmons Lane to follow up on a shoplifting incident.

NOVATO, CA — For the second time in a week, a Novato resident was cited for hosting a party where underage guests were reportedly drinking alcoholic beverages, police said.
Novato police initially responded to the party location on Simmons Lane just before 8 p.m. Friday to follow up on a shoplifting incident, according to Sgt. Blake Dunbar.
Luis Gonzalez, 19, was contacted by officers and an investigation revealed the party, which included minors consuming alcohol, Dunbar said.

Gonzalez was issued a citation for an alleged violation of the city's social host ordinance. According to the city's website, the violation is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $1,000.
On Aug. 6, an 18-year-old Novato resident was issued a similar citation at a party police said he was hosting on Lynwood Drive.
