2 Novato Schools Awarded $3,000 In Education Grants
Two Novato schools are among dozens in the Bay Area that will be able to fund new educational programs thanks to a grant.
NOVATO, CA — Two Novato schools are among dozens in the Bay Area that have been awarded a combined $100,000 in grants that will fund programs ranging from musical instruments to Korean language classes to Chromebook laptops that will be used inside classrooms.
Lynwood Elementary School in Novato will use its $2,000 grant to start a Latin dance program, and Sinaloa Middle School will use its $1,000 grant to fund volunteer awards and an appreciation cookout at the end of the school year.
The grants, presented on Dec. 12 to students and teachers, were given out as part of the Wells Fargo KNBR Step Up to the Plate program, which has granted more than $1.3 million over the last 18 years.
