Fire Displaces 4 Residents In Marin County Apartment Complex: FD
Residents in two units escaped safely after hearing loud noises and discovering flames on their rear decks, officials said.
SAN RAFAEL, CA — A fire at a San Rafael apartment complex displaced four people Sunday evening, though all residents escaped safely before firefighters arrived, officials said.
The blaze was reported around 7:30 p.m. at the Venetia Oaks apartment complex at 263 North San Pedro Rd., according to the San Rafael Fire Department.
Residents in two units heard loud noises before discovering fire on their rear decks and exited through their front doors, officials said.

Firefighters arrived to find flames at the rear of the building and deployed multiple hose lines to contain the blaze.
The fire was declared under control in about 45 minutes and did not spread beyond the two affected units, officials said.

The cause remains under investigation.
The American Red Cross is assisting the four displaced residents.
