"Conversations with Veterans", Saturday, 11/10, Novato City Hall

Join City of Novato and Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise in honoring our Veterans on the eve of the 100th Anniversary of Veteran's Day - “Conversations with Veterans” - 9:30am to 11:00am, Saturday, 11/10, at the City Hall.

Too often, our interactions with those in uniform and with Veterans are limited to a perfunctory “Thank you for your service!” when we really don’t know what that service means, or how to have a conversation with a Veteran.

On Saturday, November 10, the City of Novato and the Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise will host “Conversations with Veterans”, from 9:30-11:00 am, at Novato City Hall.

Honoring Veterans Day, the audience will hear from and be able to converse with Veterans, an Active-Duty Soldier and a Blue Star Mother, hearing from the panelists about their own experiences with Military service and what they believe civilians should understand about their lives.

“Conversations” brings together Pearl Harbor survivor and Navy Veteran Don Long, Vietnam Veteran Harry F. Thomas, Army Captain TJ O’Malley, and Barbara Bochner, Co-President of Blue Star Mothers of Marin, with Josh Fryday, Mayor of Novato and Navy Veteran, serving as Host. Sylvia Barry, President of Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise, is Co-Sponsor, along with the City of Novato, and Gil Sanborn, Novato Resident and a Civilian Aides to the Secretary of the Army, will serve as Moderator.
