Coroner IDs Couple Killed In Suspected Murder-Suicide

The Novato husband and wife died from gunshot wounds, officials said. (BREAKING)

MARIN COUNTY, CA – The Marin County coroner's office has identified a married couple found dead in their home in an apparent murder-suicide in unincorporated Novato on Wednesday morning as Michael Puig De Vall, 84, and Anita Puig De Vall, 79.

Family members found their bodies around 8:30 a.m. in a bedroom of a residence at 611 Bugeia Lane, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office. A sheriff's deputy responded and confirmed the deaths were from gunshot wounds.

The shootings are being investigated as a murder-suicide, sheriff's officials said. There is no evidence other people were involved in the incident, according to the coroner's office.

The official cause and manner of death is pending post mortem examination and toxicology testing, both of which are scheduled, officials said.

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office and personnel of the Coroner Division extended condolences "to the family and friends of Mr. and Mrs. De Vall."
