Foundation Homes, based in Kentfield, is waving relocation fees associated with finding temporary or permanent rental residences in Marin County for victims of Northern California’s devastating wildfires. Foundation Homes works with insurance companies and furnishing companies and can help negotiate appropriate lease terms for fire victims.
“Our hearts go out to those who have lost their homes, suffered injuries, or lost loved ones due to the North Bay Fires disaster,” said Darcy Alkus Barrow, co-founder of the firm.

Foundation said it accept online requests at https://foundationrentals.wufoo.com/forms/foundation-homes-north-bay-fire-relocation-help/. “Our objective is to match available housing with those seeking a place to move within our region as expeditiously as possible without additional interruption to their lives.” Foundation, founded in 2010 by the Barrows, primarily represents property in Marin County and San Francisco.
“A fire victim can submit a request for help via our website and we will assign a member of our team to assist them without charge with their search for a new house in Marin,” she said. “This will include access to our listings, as well as those available to us through MLS and our agent network. We will be available to assist with the lease negotiation between landlord and the insurance agency, help secure furnishings if needed, as well as try to help the fire victims get pets approved.

“We will also offer town and neighborhood tours to victims working with us who might be unfamiliar with Marin and need help understanding the area. Our staff will be operating seven days a week for the next several weeks to try to get everyone settled as quickly as possible.”
