Through collaborative means the workshops will include print making techniques, painting, drawing, collage, and chemical image transfer with attention to individual needs.
Each participant will leave with at least two completed works and a number of works-in-progress. You are also encouraged to bring uncompleted works, favorite tools or papers, though primary supplies are provided by instructors. There is a $20 materials fee payable day of the workshops.
Additionally, all participants are expected to supply their own 8x10" wood panels to be used specifically for the purpose of producing take-home, wall-ready pieces. We recommend that you purchase two (2). They are available at either Dick Blick or Riley Street art supplies.
While you can produce finished works and works-in-progress on the 100 lb. watercolor paper that we will be providing, the panels allow an almost fool-proof opportunity to come out with satisfying works at the conclusion of the workshop.
Carl Heyward studied printmaking at SFAI and video production at Visual Studies Workshop, Rochester NY. He is a NEA Fellow and former MFA instructor at SFAAU.
Heather Wilcoxon is represented by Jack Fischer Gallery SF. She is a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Fellow and received her BFA and MFA from SFAI.
