Police had responded to the home in October and removed two weapons after suicidal comments were made by one person, officials said.
PETALUMA, CA – Petaluma police have identified a man and woman who died in an apparent murder-suicide last week.
Police believe 76-year-old Richard Stewart shot his 75-year-old wife Patricia Stewart and then himself at their home in the 800 block of Echo Court at about 4 p.m. last Thursday.
Police said they found no evidence the shooting was pre-planned or that the couple made a suicide pact.
