LETTER TO EDITOR: Novato PD: A Little Sympathy For Victims, Maybe?

A mom driving her two little girls got hit by a Hummer trying to get across Novato Blvd on Saturday morning. Arriving on the scene was a Novato motorcycle cop who grumbled about being pulled off the School Fuel bike event. He yelled a witness who was trying to tell the officer what happened to wait.

He made the kids stand on the corner, where they shivered and cried softly, the older one who couldn't stop rubbing her injured arm. He asks the Mom, who hasn't stopped crying, if she was on the phone. "Cellularo?" It took about 15 minutes for the paramedics to arrive. The trembling little girl got a blanket, and the family some humane treatment -- and medical attention.
