Novato Scouts Receive Prestigious Awards from Boy Scouts of America, Marin Council
Novato Troop 200 Boy Scout Named "Scout of the Year" & Venturing Crew 200 Scout Named "Venturer of the Year" at recent awards dinner

Tyler Arsenault, a Boy Scout from Novato Troop 200, was named Marin Council’s “Boy Scout of the Year” at the recent Marin Council Recognition Dinner held Monday, March 16th in San Rafael. Allison MacCarthy, a Venturing Crew Scout with Crew 200, was named Marin Council’s “Venturer of the Year” at the same awards dinner. These prestigious awards are given to the one Boy Scout and one Venturing Crew Scout in Marin County who stand out and demonstrate exemplary leadership and scouting skills over the course of a year.
Tyler is currently Life Scout rank. As Senior Patrol Leader, an elected half-year position responsible for leading the more than 50 scouts in Troop 200 of Novato, Tyler works closely with the Scoutmaster and other adult leaders in running troop meetings and organizing troop activities.
Allison is President of Venturing Crew 200, which is an all-girl crew and sister group of Boy Scout Troop 200 which she helped form last year. The Crew goes on camping trips, participates in fundraising and community service projects. Allison’s long background in Girl Scouting and the leadership skills she developed there helped her get Crew 200 up and running.
