Marin Student Arrested For Threats, Ammunition Possession: Police
Adam Frey, an 18-year-old Novato High School student, was taken into custody last week on school grounds.

NOVATO, CA – A Novato High School student was arrested last week on suspicion of threatening a former roommate and possessing ammunition on school grounds, authorities said.
Adam Frey, 18, of Novato, was taken into custody May 8 on school grounds after police interviewed him regarding threatening text messages sent to his former roommate, according to Novato police.
Police said Frey consented to a search of his vehicle where officers found ammunition commonly associated with a World War II-era Russian-made rifle. Police said the ammunition is known to be a collector's
item.

Police said there were no known threats to the high school or its students, nor were any firearms available or accessible nearby to Frey.
"There are no known threats to the public or Novato High School," police said. "We take these types of cases seriously and conduct a thorough threat assessment that also involves NUSD administration. Regrettably, in this case, as is often the case, false rumors about a connection to the NHS campus created unnecessary fear in the Novato High School community."

Frey was booked into Marin County Jail. He has since been released on bail, police said.
