Novato Theater Film Club presents a Film and Music Event Celebrating the Legendary Judy Garland on January 17

An evening of treasured Hollywood film and live music to start the New Year!

The Novato Theater Film Club presents a film and music event celebrating the legendary Judy Garland, at Margaret Todd Senior Center, 1560 Hill Road, Novato on Saturday, January 17, 2015. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the program starts at 5:30 p.m. Light refreshments are included. Cost is $10 for Film Club Members, $15 for Non-Members and a Senior Special of only $8. Tickets are available online at www.novatotheater.net or by calling (415) 539.7155.

This classic Judy Garland/Mickey Rooney film ”Girl Crazy” is a Gershwin tune-fest, featuring Tommy Dorsey and his Orchestra, and a Busby Berkeley-staged I Got Rhythm finale. In addition, you’ll enjoy “Every Sunday”, a classic 1936 Judy Garland, Deanna Durbin short film and walk through Hollywood secrets and history.

The event will feature a live performance by Garland songstress, Debbie Lowe. As Judy herself said “the history of my life is in my songs” … if you close your eyes when Debbie sings, you’ll almost think Judy herself is with us at the event.
