Number Of Confirmed Coronavirus Cases In Marin County Climbs

Two new confirmed cases locally were reported Monday and the county death toll remains at nine while 372 Californians have died statewide.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Two more confirmed cases of coronavirus were reported on Monday by Marin County health officials, who indicated that the number of cases countywide now stands at 143. Thus far, nine people have died from the virus that has killed 372 residents across California, according to the latest counts. Health officials reported Monday that 1,556 people in the county have been tested and six local residents remain hospitalized.

According to health county health statistics, 58 percent of confirmed cases involve men while 99 of the cases have been diagnosed in patients between the ages of 50 and at those older than 65. Some of the confirmed cases are a result of community transmission, meaning that they are not related to travel or to people have no identifiable contact with others who have been diagnosed as carrying the virus.
